Marlo received his MFA from California State University, Fullerton, and created a studio practice in 1977. With a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, he completed a survey of California historical tile and developed new techniques for fabricating furniture and sculpture with tile. He has had many commissions and is in private and public collections throughout the United States.
