THE WAY OF THE SALT WORKER
The series Le Geste du Saunier is a tribute to the Saunier, the salt marsh worker, a profession linking man to the earth and the sea. Artists have documented the labour of the salt workers, with the same gestures, since the 14th century. It was the Benedictine monks who first worked the salt marshes in the 7th century.

a série « Le Geste du Saunier » est un hommage au métier de Saunier, l’exploitant des marais salants, reliant l'Homme, la Terre et la Mer. L'homme dans un profond respect du sol tire naturellement et avec patience le fruit de son travail, avec le même geste, depuis le XIVème siècle. Ce sont les moines Bénédictins qui ont créé au VIIème siècle les marais salants.

《盐沼工人的姿势》是对采盐人的致敬。作为盐沼经营者，他们的工作将人类、地球和海洋连接在一起。出于对土壤的敬意，7世纪时，本笃会的修士们开辟了盐沼。而自14世纪，人类以自然的方式，周而复始地劳动，以求获得盐这一自然的馈赠。
