Meridional I , 2014

The series "Meridional" from 2014 shows colorful landscapes under some occasional exemptions. The trees and plants are abstracted to simple round shapes, while the color is often reversed up to the photographic negative. Thus, the sky is red instead of blue and the green plants are yellow, blue or black. The monochrome colourfulness of the individual elements blends with those of the same color, while the shapes occasionally bear bold contours of different colors. The colorful play of colors fascinates and irritates at the same time, due to abstract forms or objects, which do not fit real-life into the figure-less happening. For example, an oversized pair of scissors appears in the sky above the landscape. The title of the series "Meridional" is borrowed from geographical references and is found approximately in the nature or landscape depictions.
