The images consist of a smaller version of the digital collage print of the ships and two sea view paintings (painted with watercolour). The digital print and watercolour paintings were printed onto Polaroid 2x3 inch premium zink paper, soaked in a tub of instant coffee for hours and rescanned to create the digital images. Placing zink paper into coffee peels off the glossy top layer of the paper, leaving behind layers of bright patterns and strokes and distorts the content of the images, washing out some of the colours. The coffee itself ages the paper and applies rich brown tones over the imagery. The contrast between the faded colours and patterns of bright coloured layers create unique soft textured images with harsh strokes of colour over the content of the images. Through the distortion of the images, the sceneries depicted become almost unclear, creating a mysterious dreamlike atmosphere leaving it open for interpretation.
