"This self-portrait explores my own personal inner transformation these past few months during the pandemic—reflecting on the cycles of birth, life, death and rebirth. A new way of being by honoring the deep connection shared with the natural world and the mycelial web that binds all life with the wisdom of the ancestors that came before and the future that we must now co-create.

Coaybay, the title of this piece is a mystical remote earthly paradise that the Taino people return to after death, a deep connection with my ancestors from my homeland (Ayiti ""land of high mountains"" or Kiskeya ""mother of all lands""), know today as the Dominican Republic. "
