1927 | Bugatti Type 35B
Designed by Ettore Bugatti
The Bugatti won the 1926 Grand Prix World Championship, the legendary Monaco Grand Prix three times, and the notoriously difficult Targa Florio five times. Bugattis were hand-assembled and constantly under development for different forms of competition. Each type of event required different engine configurations, brakes, suspension design, and more. To better differentiate them, each progressive iteration of the Type 35 was given an alphabetically progressive suffix. Hence the Type 35, 35A, 35B, 35C, 35T, 35TC, etc.
