The very essence of the Passover is a rejection of the evils of slavery and not forgetting them, of learning. As an artist you paint or draw what you feel, what obsesses you. I have certain images lodged in my mind that were somehow released by the twin experiences of Covid and Passover. These vignettes appeared in this work, that would be the centrepiece of a Haggadah. I also feel that now it is very important for people of diverse backgrounds to share and memorialise the times when humanity has sunk to its lowest levels.
