Pandemic graduation

I had been asked to take photographs by the girl's mother. It was an extremely proud moment for her, not only was her daughter the first person in the family to go to university, but she had graduated with a first class honours. This should have been a big celebration for them, but the pandemic changed that. The moment really touched me, it is tinged with a sadness and transcends the act of graduating during the pandemic, representing instead the lost time that has impacted all of us in different and unexpected ways.
