"As above, so below.

Like all things in the sacred circle of life and death, the visible mushroom emerges from an invisible network of instinctual intelligence, synergistic connectivity, and irrepressible love of all life. And like fungi, with their purifying, nutritional, medicinal, and mind expanding properties, humans also possess the means to reverse the tide of planetary devastation through compassionate communities and open, mindful exchange and transformation of information and resources.

All of the mushrooms in this painting are based on my personal encounters with fungi, moments of discovery and delight that caused me to pause and reflect on the yin and yang pulse of existence, the polarities of life/death, black/white, day/night, doing/being, giving/receiving, resilience/fragility, as well as scale—the infinitely creative iterations of unity and diversity across macro-and-microscopic expressions of consciousness itself."
