Painting Frida Kahlo, took me to dive and experience a deep connection with her life, where she created so many worlds to escape her own reality of suffering. Her love for art saved her, her love for Diego kept her inspired to keep creating and express her most profound feelings. So many times Frida felt broken in two or in million pieces and I wanted to paint her complete, her presence being enough and not needing Diego, or a pregnancy or her broken spine.. her brushes were wings that allowed her to fly far, far away from all her pain, struggles and her broken heart..
