"This painting is of my late brother-in-law, Richard. He came to visit us and we took a day trip to the Port Huron promenade. I secretly took a photo of him while he was enjoying himself, capturing him in a moment of leisure and reflection. I felt that this picture is a reminder of the freedom we feel when we can do what we love. His expression captured this and was my inspiration to paint him.
