In this artwork by Suzanne Barnes the brightly coloured imagery conveys an almost cubist feel, the fragmented and abstracted scene busy and playful.

Suzanne Barnes is an emerging artist working in pencil and gouache on paper, as well as small-scale embroideries. Her quirky mix of subject matter sees the artist depicting birds and animals along with quintessentially Australian holiday scenes, where caravans and iconic landmarks such as the Big Pineapple are all part of the experience. Each work resonates with nostalgia and charm, and there is an ease to her graphical artmaking. Her drawing style is confident, varied and open to experimentation.

Barnes has worked at Arts Project Australia since 2017. She has exhibited nationally and her works are held in private collections throughout Australia
