Normally the lessons you would learn from villains would be that of a cautionary tale. While everyone enjoyed a charismatic and fun villain, you wouldn't necessarily want to be like them. That ended up not being the case when I created Ramzi, but not on purpose. Some of my favorite qualities in a villain are intelligence, skill, and an having real presence when they enter a scene. These were things I did try to write into Ramzi, but another thing about him that ended up being something I can learn from? He was good at his job, and was not shy about that. And as someone in the art industry, I think that confidence is crucial. As someone who is taught to be humble, to not be arrogant, it has become difficult for me to confidently talk about my work and properly sell myself as an artist. This character, villain or not, has taught me that it is not bad to be confident in what you're good at. And with that I think that was a very important lesson to learn.
