Bonfire Story
33 x 46 cm (h x w)
pen on paper

This pen and pencil drawing illustrates the first-ever storytelling performance of Openstorytellers. This is an arts charity that I have been part of since 2004. The story we performed was Ceridwen’s Cauldron, a Welsh legend which tells the story of a boy called Afagddu, who’s mother wanted to create a potion to make him well and wise. My friends and myself performed this around a huge bonfire late at night at The Festival at the Edge Storytelling event. I wanted people to feel the hot fire in the picture and the cold starry night.
