Artist Statement
Birth is the ultimate moment of anticipation. When avoidable harm or death occurs, deep anguish is felt by those involved. An apology is an act of compassion and an indicator of quality. It redresses the power relationship between the healthcare provider and the patient, and is the necessary first step towards reconciliation, improvement, and forgiveness.

Biography
Kim Neudorf has been a member of Patients for Patient Safety Canada since 2009. She is an amateur watercolour artist and enjoys painting landscape scenes of Canada’s boreal forest and the Saskatchewan prairies.
