Hello! My name is Uma and I am an artist. I am very passionate about expressing myself through the strokes of a paint brush and my vivid imagination. I like to think that art speaks louder than words. It’s truly a magical thing to interpret. It is intriguing how art can illustrate many emotions through simple colours on a canvas. I chose to restore an old white desk that was broken and being discarded. My display showcases what may appear to be broken on the outside, can hold true inner beauty. One must look deeper and beyond the surface to really appreciate an object’s former glory. It is possible to transform any shrivelled and damaged item into something greater than it ever was by highlighting its original beauty instead of replacing it. With a little faith, compassion, love and imagination, the originality will always shine through.
