In this graphite drawing of my mum, I show her candour and kindness. I chose this angle because I felt it best presented the way I see her. I think I handled the gradients quite well and have captured an accurate representation of my mum. Using a unified technique in the portrait, I wanted to avoid blending with a cloth to make it look more 3-dimensional. I also centred her face, avoiding it being pushed to one side to keep the composition balanced.
