Yuri Nikitin (1958- ) Graduated from the Ukrainian Academy of Arts as a scenographer Nikitin took part in Ukrainian and international art projects. After a short experience in cinema, he came back to painting practice, icon painting and encaustics (wax painting)art. Nikitin did many murals and icons for Ukrainian churches. He invented his own technique of painting on the skin. Nikitin calls himself an artist, mystic and philosopher.
