These paintings present an artistic exploration of running as a remedy for the hectic and
pressured lifestyle of modern times, amid the limited daily opportunities for pause and
reflection. The figures suggest that there is a restorative power in running, a time during
which one can meditate, breathe, and heal.

Irit Epstein studied fine arts for five years at the Academy of Art (HDK) in Berlin, Germany,receiving a Master of Fine Arts. Additionally, she completed a master’s degree in Art Therapy at New York University. Irit lives and works in Toronto.
