Girl of the Golden West , 1933
6.2 x 2 in (h x w)

Pageant of the Masters re-creation of “Girl of the Golden West” by Louis Betts in 1933.

The very first tableau presented in 1933’s “Spirit of the Masters Pageant,” was “The Girl of the Golden West,” a painting by Louis Betts, which benefited from the fact that Josie Derkum Rice, who took her pose, had been Betts’ original model for the painting 18 years earlier.
