North Syria has already been crippled by years of war only to be struck by a powerful earthquake that had a devastating outcome. The vast majority of people living in this region have had to flee their homes at least once. Many are now experiencing the same tragedy as the buildings were poorly constructed and ill-prepared to cope with a disaster of this scale. Nearly 5000 people lost their lives and thousands were injured. More than 11,000 families who have been affected by the earthquake are now homeless.
