edge-effect , 2023
20 x 25 x 10 cm (h x w x d)

The sculpture thematizes human interference in nature, the title establishing a connection to ecology, critically viewing how habitats are limited and separated. The organic material of moss is utilized in addition to the artificial gypsum and metal wire shaped to resemble plants, which unifies the factitious with nature; posing questions as to what we see as natural despite it being human-made. “Edge effect” took inspiration from artists of my family, Jenny Hoffmann and Heidemarie Dreßel.
