I've always been very creative. While most kids in kindergarten were tracing their hands to make turkeys, I was making hand puppets out of envelopes. Growing up I would spend hours just drawing pictures of all kinds of things. My teachers would always write on my report cards "Michael is a pleasure to have in class. He is very quiet and loves to daydream". At age 14, I had a representative from an out of state art college come to my house about me going to their college. We set around the dining room table with my parents and he told them then, "I could take Michael's work and sell it right now. That's how good it is". In High School I hated painting. I would rather use any other medium, but paint. There would be days when I would skip lunch just to stay in the art room to work on projects. I would eventually go to that art college and get a degree in Graphic Design. Many years later I tried painting again. Doing murals for people, businesses, and schools. Painting had become relaxing for me, so I started painting on canvas at home. Next thing I knew I had a room full of paintings. I realized that I shouldn't keep this all to myself. I need to share this with the world. Maybe it might bring someone some joy. I now firmly believe that my paintings are meant for someone. I never know who, or when, but I know they will find their way to who they belong to. That's why some days I have several paintings going on at the same time.
