Dreams seep through our subconscious thoughts like water finding its way from the highest ridge down through streams and wetlands to the lake. I love the image of rushing water that gushes and bubbles until it reaches a quiet highland lake. But, the lake does not sleep. Muscular crosscurrents agitate the underwater world with hidden torments, like a dream agitates a sleeper.
As children, we prayed at bedtime for our soul's safe-keeping. Then we gave in to our dreams, like water gives in to the punishing landscape.
