Collage- Inspired by Georgia O'Keefe
20 x 26 in (h x w)

“In Ms Jess’s art class, our grade 3 students were introduced to many different artists throughout history. For this particular project, we looked at the work of Contemporary American Painter Georgia O’Keeffe. She was known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes. In her home of New mexico she explored the desert, and found animal bones to paint.
We began by creating a drawing of an animal skull, the students practiced their line work and light shading to draw their skulls, outlining them when they were
finished. Then, each student created their collaged backgrounds, the pieces were from a variety of painted papers, shapes were cut and collaged to create an interesting texture & pattern. Finally the students cut out their skull and attached it to the collage. We hope you like the result!”
