Johannes Volkelt (1848-1930)
150 x 100 x 2.5 cm (h x w x d)

As Külpe's direct predecessor, Johannes Volkelt held the professorship from 1889-1894 before moving to Leipzig. Volkelt was intensively involved with questions of aesthetics, emphasising its psychological foundation. This may have been the reason why aesthetics was added to the tasks of the professorship in Külpe's later call.
