From 1964-1966 Wilhelm Arnold was elected rector of Alma Julia.

Arnold was substantially involved in the structural planning and expansion of the Institute of Psychology. Not the least in his function as Rector of the University of Würzburg, he was able to set a decisive course for the successful development of the Institute.
