Size: 20 x 12cm each
My creative practice focuses on recording a sense of spaciousness and the ethereal.
I work with a range of textile processes, including hand-stitch, print and fabric manipulation, creating textile artworks from an intimate scale to larger installation works.
I want the work to have a sense of spaciousness. but to have a feeling of it being on the edge of movement or the moment in the balance between stillness and change or even chaos. I am deeply fascinated by memories and how we are wholly unreliable sources of information. All we can ever do is piece things together to make our own whole. Repeating tales until they are true to us. I work on a range of found, gathered and sourced scraps of fabric, binding them together until they are one. I want to explore human experience in my work, expressed through thoughtful and emotionally-engaged textile making.
