Wasteland, Baby , 2022
mixed media : ink, water color

Wasteland, baby is a Surrealist piece that visualizes a scene of two skeletons reaching toward each other, and toward a dream-like window outside of their wasteland reality. While the meaning behind this is up to my audience to decide, this piece expresses my own emotional conflict, my dreams, and how I view them. I also drew inspiration from the imagery expressed in Hozier’s song "Wasteland, Baby!". The lyrics describe a dream in which two people fall in love during the end of the world, accepting their impending end through their love for each other.
