Titania and Oberon , 2022
Digital Illustration

This piece reimagines Oberon's enchantment of Titania in Act 2, Scene 2 of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This scene encapsulates the supernatural and ethereal tone the play adopts when the characters enter the forest and ultimately fall under the forest’s influence, akin to entering a dream. The obstinate personalities of the two main supernatural characters in the play are represented through contrast, even as they are connected by a common element. The style is informed by Art Nouveau and psychedelic art of the 60's and 70's, which emphasize bold design, a wide variety of color palettes, and surreal, dreamlike visuals, to incorporate a surreal element into the image.
