Takashi inspired Paper Mache Spheres
#Mixed Media
not for sale

There was so much hard work that went into these 3D pieces!
Classes were asked to create the paper mache 1/2 sphere with cardboard and newspaper from scratch! They had to get their hands dirty building up layers of glue and water.
Then students were asked to create two templates of flowers (based of Takashi Murakami's Sunflowers) or create their own Manga style characters. They then used these templates to create a pattern on their backgrounds that they later outlined with sharpie.
The final step was designing & painting their patterns/characters on their sphere, many students amazed me with their originality and even made a different design on their spheres to their backgrounds.
We hope you enjoy the result!
