Vladimir (right) shares a tender moment with his 16-year-old son, Bogdan (left), as they sit on a bed in a Romanian shelter for refugees from Ukraine. They left southern Ukraine along with Vladimir’s sister, Tatiana, and arrived in Romania on March 14, 2022. Bogdan has a physical disability, so that made their trip harder. But the family members found a temporary shelter at a refugee center in Iasi, Romania.
The shelter, formerly an office building, was converted when refugees began to cross the border. World Vision pays for utilities such as electricity, gas, and laundry services, as well as all volunteer-related expenses.
