Decorating houses with rich ornaments and lace-like woodwork is quite common in the area where I live in Norway. Swiss Chalet style, as the name suggests, is originally from Switzerland, and became very popular in Norway at the end of the 19th century. Many still choose this style when new houses are built.

I have used over a hundred-year-old carvings as my pattern. The piece reflects on how elements once foreign, over the years find their natural places in their surroundings.
