Nearly half of the people in northern Syria rely on alternative and often unsafe water sources to complement their water needs. Climate change, droughts and water scarcity have impacted crops and agricultural livelihood. Poor water quality tends to lead to more waterborne diseases, including cholera and diarrhoea.
