Thousands of children in the country’s northern side are still being forced out of school and into the labour market under highly vulnerable conditions. Children are being subjected to hazardous labour in various sectors such as agriculture, factories, construction sites and markets. Many children are also being exploited in domestic work, including cooking, cleaning and caring for younger siblings. These children are often forced to work long hours, receive little or no pay and are deprived of education, health care and other basic needs.
