Reni Stephan was inspired to paint the following still life as a result of his mentorship with our fine arts director, Joseph Badalpour. The artists worked together to discuss and decide upon the final composition. In the work, we see an Assyrian flag, a book of knowledge, the Bible, the flower of hope, and a crucifix. The different symbols represent significant aspect of Assyrian culture and history. The crucifix is placed above the other symbols in order to indicate the importance of Christian faith serving as a guiding force for the nation, and of putting one's faith above all else.
