Simulative reflections is a very experimental piece, a painting collaged through a base of spray paints, Fluro paint, and reflective surfaces. I attempted to capture the synthwave aesthetic which pays tribute to the golden days of the 80’s, a
lament to a past we no longer have, and a future that will
never happen. I aim to disrupt people’s sense of reality and time,
challenging perceptions with visual and pop culture elements of the 80’s.
The reflective material allows people to physically become a part
of this 80’s dreamscape and reflect upon the differences between
people from the 80’s perceived future and our current state.
