This quilt is an experiment with improvisational paper piecing 45-degree triangles. It's a feathered star, which traditionally requires meticulous measuring and perfect seam allowances, but I use a more forgiving, improvisational, approach! The star is mostly triangles, but the city below, made of stardust, has many more shapes created by the sentient inhabitants! My spouse is an astrophysicist, and he assures me that humanity and all its creations really are made of stardust!
