Artist's Statement:
The video, Princess, was filmed at School No. 8 in Tomsk. The first students who attended this school, which also served as a military hospital, went to war and did not return. The school is known to be haunted. Working there as cleaners, my sister and I went in search of ghosts. On the third floor, there was a memorial museum. There we discovered a ghost of our past, the present and perhaps the future, which haunts us to this day in the form of a strapless pink dress.
Bio:
Malyshki 18:22 (Babes 18:22) is the creative union of two artist-sisters, Aksinya Sarycheva and Nika Sarycheva. In their artistic practice, the Malyshki 18:22 art group works on a border between imagination and reality, entertaining the idea of “staying in touch with the fulfillment of life,” a pursuit they see as an artistic challenge. Throughout their work, the sisters examine such topics as human vulnerability, femininity, sisterhood, and inner childhood through the lens of the Western Siberia/Tomsk region’s landscape, history, and culture.

Клип “Принцесса” был снят в школе № 8 в Томске. Первые ученики из этой школы, в которой был устроен военный госпиталь, ушли на войну и не вернулись. Известно, что в школе водятся привидения. Работая там уборщицами, мы с сестрой отправились на поиски призраков. На третьем этаже был мемориальный музей. Там мы обнаружили призрака нашего прошлого, настоящего и, возможно, будущего, которое преследует нас по сей день в виде розового платья без бретелек.

“Малышки 18:22” (Babes 18:22) - творческий союз двух сестёр-художниц, Аксиньи и Ники Сарычевых. В своей художественной практике арт-группа “Малышки 18:22” работает на границе между воображением и реальностью, придерживаясь идеи “оставаться на связи с наполнением жизни”, стремление к которой они рассматривают как художественный вызов. На протяжении всей своей работы сёстры исследуют такие темы, как человеческая уязвимость, женственность, сестринство и внутреннее детство, через призму ландшафта, истории и культуры Западной Сибири/Томской области.
