Berlin Airlift (1948-1949)

In response to the Soviet blockade of West Berlin, Western Allies initiated the Berlin Airlift from June 1948 to May 1949. Over 200,000 flights delivered essential supplies to West Berliners, showcasing Allied commitment to the city's freedom. This humanitarian effort prevented Soviet control over West Berlin and led to the establishment of West Germany and East Germany.
