Berlin Wall construction (1961)

In August 1961, East German authorities initiated the construction of the Berlin Wall, a physical barrier dividing East and West Berlin. It symbolized Europe's Cold War division and highlighted the realities of communist control in Eastern Europe. The wall represented the Iron Curtain, separating families and ideologies, intensifying East-West tensions, and emphasizing the struggle against communism.
