Carla and José, a young Venezuelan couple, set out on a challenging journey, driven by the dream of securing a better future for their son, Said (pictured at age 4 on José’s shoulders). Faced with Venezuela’s deteriorating economic and political situation, which has been marked by food scarcity, low wages, and limited job opportunities, the family left their homeland in pursuit of stability and security. When they stopped in Trojes, Honduras, they received assistance at a World Vision and United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) center. Since 2019, World Vision has aided over 2 million people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, through programs focused on child protection, education, food security, access to clean water, and more in seven countries.
