I explored the dominating relationship between nature and humans through the use of horses, powerful animals that represent both freedom and control. Applying a naive childlike style on a large sticker mimicking paper cutout I imitated an honest perspective on a complex issue. I played with a twisted role reversal inspired by the works of Barbara Daniels, to evoke empathy for the non-human “oppressed” and to prompt viewers to reflect upon the morality of their own interactions with nature.
