Mithila Art
80 x 120 cm (h x w)

Mithila paintings are one of the artistic outputs of the MAP ‘Picturing Past, Present, and Future (PPPF)’ in Nepal. In Nepal, PPPF collaborated with Janaki Women Awareness Society (JWAS).

"In the picture, a woman is holding the whole earth in her hand. A piece of cloth is covering her mouth. Trees, birds, and ponds (nature) are surrounding her.

It says that women have the power to hold the whole world, but the patriarchal mindset of people always controls their lives and restricts their
voices."

Other works by Dipa Karna, Sonam karna, Simran Purwe, Riya Mishra, and Kanchan Thakur
