In every shop, supermarket, street corner, footpath, school pavement, coloured geometric shapes have appeared in unprecedented numbers - circles and squares, and sometimes diamonds, with footprints or measurements or arrows or all three, instructing us how to be in public. No hugging, shaking hands, fist bumping or rubbing shoulders. Graphic reminders that how we interact in our world has changed. Heeding social distancing regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic and possibly beyond, reinforcing the marketing slogan that “staying apart keeps us together”.
