A Fairbanks-Morse H-12-44 pauses at the Schlitz Brewery while white steam billows over the active complex. Schlitz received direct service from the Milwaukee Road at the Cherry Street Yard. The rail network did not run directly into the Blatz or Pabst factories, however, so trucks transferred raw materials and beer between each brewery complex and the Chestnut Street Yard.
