Self Portrait In Bloom , 2019

Republic of Moldova

Acrylic, Oil Pastel, Paper Collage on Canvas

This work is a self-portrait and is about my recovery from a trauma of adolescent abuse. It is an illustration of my sense of rebirth, a comparison with the rebirth of nature in spring.

Topics that concern me are environmental issues, problems of the 21st century, consumerism, the imbalance between urban and rural habitat, together with all the aspects that comprise them. But the subject I am most passionate about is human close relationship with nature. I like to create visual parallels between the manifestations of nature in humans life.
I work in different techniques, depending on the subject, theme and context. I really like to mix media. An example would be Acrylic, vinyl, oil pastels, collage, ink.
I reuse materials such as various types of paper, cardboard, textyles , wood, in my collages to give them a new life and purpose.
At the age of 15 I went to Bucharest, Romania to study fine arts, first at Nicolae Tonitza High School, then at the University of Arts in Bucharest.
After graduating I went to Spain for 3 years. There I worked and exhibited in various spaces and galleries in group or solo exhibitions, as a member of the Association of Artists of Alicante.
For 6 years I returned to my country of origin where I worked as an artistic manager. I was inspired by the great deficit of exhibition spaces but also a lack of artistic education among art consumers but also professionals.
