Giordano Bruno
100 x 100 cm (h x w)

Giordano Bruno was an italian philosopher who believed that the Earth rotates around the Sun and the Universe is way more than just the solar system. On January 20th 1600, after being held in prison for 6 years, he was sentenced to death because of heresy by Pope Clement VIII. When he heard the sentence, he said to the judges: ‘Perhaps your fear in passing judgment on me is greater than mine in receiving it’. He was burned at the stake.
