Liyu Xue is an interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. Using an array of media he is always searching for the new frontiers of modern mythology. Liyu also invests in consciousness and mixed reality study, where he finds new perspectives and evidence to think about the performative nature of the bodily presence and the embodiment.

On contrary to the traditional way of think about experience as more of an internal representation, Liyu adapts psychologist Ricardo Manzotti's Mind-Object Identity hypothesis: "our experience of an object is not where the body is, but rather where the object we experience is. Experience is an external object, a physical phenomenon". His Sensory Overload, 2021 collection is a visual construct of the machine merging with human flesh and our bodily presence and extending the human sensory capacity.
