When I think of connection, I think of the strong connections forged between women. This is something I didn't really notice when I was younger, but more recently I realised that all aspects of my life are defined by it. In my work, my charity, my personal interests and my friendships, I'm surrounded by incredible women. Some have dignified strength, some have fiery anger, some are so sharp in their intelligence, some are so calm and reflective....most have a unique mix of these and other characteristics of course. Some I know well, some I barely know. But seeing them come together to fight for things they believe in, to build things, to make positive changes, to support each other... is something that I find quite overwhelmingly brilliant. I'm proud to call these women my friends and my colleagues, and I'm so glad that I have connected with them.
I'm in a local women's rights group and this quote went round recently, it seems fitting here:
